What To Do When Your Till Is Not Communicating With Card Machine
If you begin having an issue when trying to take a card payment on your till, where the till is no longer able to communicate to its respective card machine, we advise your first port of call to log the till off to the 4/5-button program, power the card machine off (by unplugging any power cables or mains plug for the card machine, making sure the display turns off, Do not touch the power for any other device) and then power the card machine back on again.
Once the card machine is on a static screen (e.g. "Waiting On Merchant Login" for VeriFone P400), you may then log back into the till program and try taking another card payment. Once the card machine is logged in without any payments being processed at the time, it should say "Ready".
